From the moment you arrive, you will be taken by the wonderfully peaceful Cornish location at Barn Owl. Located just 5 miles inland of Portreath with panoramic views overlooking Carn Brea, Portreath, St Ives Bay and the Cornish coast. A traditional 4 bed detached farmhouse, a family home that will delight and amaze adults and children alike with access to 4 acres of meadow/paddock, you might even encounter the free-roaming chickens! There is easy access to the Great Flat Lode for walking and cycling found between Camborne and Pool, a circular route which passes some of the best preserved mining buildings in Cornwall. If you like horse riding, Cornish Riding Holidays is less than a 10 minute walk away. With plenty of entertaining space to suit families or couples both indoors and out, you can enjoy watching the romantic sunset at the end the day with a well-deserved glass of wine. Within a 5-mile easy reach are the golden sands of Portreath Beach and its cafes and restaurants. Only a short drive to Godrevy Heritage site and Mutton Cove with it own resident colony of Atlantic Grey seals, this property really does offer something for everyone.

GARDEN & PARKING: Gravel landscaped south-facing rear garden with tiered patio area with access to 4 acres of paddock which has beautiful views of St Ives Bay. Landscaped front garden with stunning panoramic countryside and sea views overlooking Carn Brea and Portreath. Parking for 6 cars on front driveway. Ample storage for bicycles, surfboards, golf clubs etc.

Changeover Day: Saturday - arrival 3:00 pm - departure 10:00am.
Power and Heat: Electricity included in rent, log burner on ground floor, heated towel rail in the bathroom, gas-fired radiators throughout bedrooms and living room.
Bedding and Linen: Pillows & duvets included; bed linen and towels provided.
Baby Equipment: Baby high chair available in the house always at no charge. Any extras can be found on the hire page.
Pets Welcome: 1 dog allowed - £25 per pet per week.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. Setting has beautiful views of Cornwall and only a few minutes from main route through Cornwall. The owners were very welcoming and had made extra efforts to provide things for our arrival such as scones, bread, jams and juice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. It is spacious, idyllic and clean. We visited many places during our stay, including Not Eden Project, Bedruthan Steps, Padstow, Lands End and St Ives. All within easily drivable distance.

Portreath is a small village centred on the harbour and large beach with all the local amenities you could wish for nearby including a local supermarket, surf/beach shops, Post Office, bakery, tearoom and several pubs serving fantastic local cuisine.

The pretty, sandy beach here is popular with families and surfers alike, as like many of the beaches on the west Cornish coast, this beach offers good surfing conditions. Portreath also featured in the Marine Conservation Society Good Beach Guide Recommended 2014 for its excellent water quality. Please note dogs are welcome on this beach expect between Easter- October each year.
