We booked Song of the Sea as a special treat to celebrate our daughter's 21st and our 25th wedding anniversary. We literally couldn't have asked for a more memorable stay. The property, its location, and of course 6 days of wall to wall sunshine and in March, was what dreams are made of! A stunning property, in a place we love, with our nearest and dearest..... what more could you ask for? Want to book to come back already.
It was absolutely fantastic. We loved it. Thank you
Song of The Sea is such a spectacular property that it really does take your breath away! We felt like the 'real world' was a million miles away and we could easily have spent every day doing nothing other than sitting taking in the views, watching the activity in and out of the harbour and letting the sound of the waves soothe us. The attention to detail by Above Beach Cottages was excellent and ensured we could enjoy the holiday to the full. Thank yo so much!
The best holiday house we have ever stayed in. Brilliant in every aspect.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G We are so glad that we have had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful house. Superbly designed and a view that is breathtaking. We stayed during the July heatwave and sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine we really could have been anywhere in the world.
Amazing house, amazing location! The view is absolutely stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed our week here
AMAZING! We loved it and we hope to come back. It was fantastic, beautiful house and a lovely view, best holiday ever. My favourite holiday ever, this is my official dream house. Karl age 49 3/4
Cornwall has many hidden gems but Song of the Sea is one of it's brightest, ultimate luxury accommodation and a view that really does take your breath away.
OMG we had the best time ever. What a truly fantastic house. Views to die for, great facilities (loved the telescope) and so close to such a beautiful town. Even saw a pod of whales one morning- amazing. We visit Cornwall every year and think we have found the ultimate house- see you next year!
WOW simply stunning house and position. Storms just added to a great week we feel recharged and relaxed.
Set on the west coast of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the little harbour town of Porthleven is the quintessential Cornish fishing port. Centred around the harbour, it boasts an array of cafés, restaurants and galleries and exudes a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK, with fishing boats operating out of the harbour. This makes the town a great spot to enjoy some delicious seafood, straight from the fishing boats to the restaurants, it couldn’t be fresher!
Porthleven beach can be accessed from the town itself and provides a long expanse of sand which is separated into segments by several rocky outcrops. While away the glorious summer days relaxing on the beach with a locally made ice cream in hand!
Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the cosy safety of the local pub!
The surrounding area doesn’t disappoint either; located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the views from every cove or clifftop are picture-perfect. Travel north-west and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount – an absolute ‘must’. South takes you to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Lizard Point, one of Cornwall’s most iconic spots.
You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, but if you fancy a day out, try the Seal Sanctuary, Flambards or Trebah Gardens. Or, go a little further afield and you can explore Penzance, Land’s End and St Ives.
