Nice cottage in a great spot on the cliff top. Had a really enjoyable week.
Lovely cottage in fab location, fantastic views.
Love Porthleven, the high seas, and the walks, would highly recommended Above Beach Cottages and will use them again next year.
Cracking little place in a superb location. Booked it for the wife's 50th as she wanted to go away. She gave me the brief that she wanted to wake up to a sea view and she absolutely loved it!
We have been coming to Porthleven for the last 4 years and love everything about it! The food, local shops and facilities are excellent and we highly recommend it.
Good walks just on the doorstep.
It is great to find a cottage that is comfortable, cosy, in a great location and accepting 2 golden retrievers as well as us!
Listening to the sea is such a wonderful sound.
The house is in a great location which couldn't be bettered and it became a home from home. We would all love to come back.
The Lizard peninsula fantastic, the coves are just perfect. Wanted to take the views home with us.
We love Porthleven as it's uncommercialised, but has everything you need with Helston only 5 minutes away.
What a lovely place, cottage fabulous and well-equipped.
Set on the west coast of the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, the little harbour town of Porthleven is the quintessential Cornish fishing port. Centred around the harbour, it boasts an array of cafés, restaurants and galleries and exudes a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Porthleven is the most southerly working port in the UK, with fishing boats operating out of the harbour. This makes the town a great spot to enjoy some delicious seafood, straight from the fishing boats to the restaurants, it couldn’t be fresher!
Porthleven beach can be accessed from the town itself and provides a long expanse of sand which is separated into segments by several rocky outcrops. While away the glorious summer days relaxing on the beach with a locally made ice cream in hand!
Situated part way along a huge sweeping bay, it faces the Atlantic Ocean and is often on the receiving end of some mighty winter storms! A fabulous destination for a winter break; marvel at the awe-inspiring waves pounding the harbour walls from the cosy safety of the local pub!
The surrounding area doesn’t disappoint either; located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the views from every cove or clifftop are picture-perfect. Travel north-west and you’ll reach Marazion, home of St Michael’s Mount – an absolute ‘must’. South takes you to the tip of the Lizard Peninsula, Lizard Point, one of Cornwall’s most iconic spots.
You won’t tire of the walks and stunning scenery, but if you fancy a day out, try the Seal Sanctuary, Flambards or Trebah Gardens. Or, go a little further afield and you can explore Penzance, Land’s End and St Ives.
