This beautiful cottage is over 200 years old and is situated in West Looe, less than 200 metres from the ferry that takes you over to the shopping and eating district of East Looe. Sleeping three over two comfortable bedrooms, you’ll soon feel refreshed and ready to take on a day of exploring this wonderful part of South East Cornwall with your family. Take a 5.5-mile walk along the South West Coast Path to Polperro (5 miles by road), where the stunning sands and blue waters of the beach await you, or spend the day at the delightful Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary.
The property retains lots of original features including whitewashed stone walls, exposed beams and fantastic slate floors, helping to transport you back to when it was a fisherman’s house. There are two steps up into the cosy open-plan living area; curl up on the sofa with a good book in the evenings, warmed by the wood burner, or cook up a storm in the galley kitchen to eat at the quaint dining table. Spend warmer nights in the courtyard that’s shared with four other properties and enjoy an al fresco drink before heading to bed. Both bedrooms have tranquil, neutral decor and pretty coastal touches.
East Looe Beach (0.5 miles) is perfect for sunbathing and paddling, but make sure you visit nearby Millendreath (3 miles), Talland Bay (4 miles) and Seaton (5.5 miles) too. If you loved the Monkey Sanctuary you’ll also like Porfell Wildlife Park (8 miles) where there are lots of rescued exotic animals to meet. The Eden Project is just 22 miles away and is a must-visit for tropical plant lovers, but if you’re a thrill-seeker you can book a zip wire experience over Eden and the surrounding countryside at Hangloose Adventures on site.
