Unwind and take in the undulating rural views when you stay at this special retreat in North Cornwall. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom cottage is set on a working farm 3 miles from Launceston. In a superb situation for exploring Dartmoor National Park, Bodmin Moor and the Tamara Coast to Coast Way, it comes with a large deck, an area of lawn and a hot tub to relax in at the end of each day.

Enter the cottage via the kitchen, where a feature has been made of an original well. This is now covered with glass to enable guests to gaze right down into it. This beautifully finished room, which also has exposed stone walls, includes everything you need to help you prepare meals with the ingredients you have bought on your trips out into your surroundings. There is also a central island and breakfast bar to gather around. Wander through to the lounge in the evenings to settle on the soft seating and play a game or watch the Smart TV. Pull open the doors on fine days and gaze out over the countryside. At the end of each enjoyable day away together, climb the stairs to the first floor of the cottage. Here you will find a king-size bedroom, a double and a bunk bedroom suitable for children. The family bathroom is also up here. Dine outside as often as the weather permits, fire up the hot tub and simply soak up the serenity.

Lace up your boots and head straight out on picturesque walks from the cottage. Ensure you visit Strawberry Fields Farm Shop for all your local produce less than 2 miles away, enjoy afternoon tea in the café and take part in one of their 'pick your own' events throughout the year. The hosts were great - available if we needed anything but giving us privacy. They were proactive in making sure we had everything we needed and left us a lovely cream tea welcome hamper and some complementary fresh eggs, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed - thank you. The property itself was spotless and had everything you would need for a home Read moreaway from home. The location was very private with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. It is conveniently situated on the border between Devon and Cornwall so within easy reach of some lovely places to visit. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Hide

We had a lovely stay at The Swallows Nest. Unfortunately the heating wasnt working and the log burner had been broken by previous guest but as soon as I asked for extra heaters the owner was extremely accommodating and went and got some for us. The heating was then fixed on our third day whilst we were out exploring so didnt disrupt us. The house wRead moreas immaculate and had everything needed for our stay, we even managed to make a full roast dinner for 6. Lots of good quality towels and bedding and beds were comfortable. The cream tea hamper on arrival was much appreciated and delicious and the hot tub was a lovely touch. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend Hide
