Property code: OC-OLDBAK

Once the village bakers, this charming cottage for couples or a small family has been lovingly converted into a stylish home away from home with a cosy living room featuring a crackling wood burner and a Moroccan-style courtyard garden for al fresco dining.

Step into this immaculately presented cottage and discover the bright and airy lounge/diner featuring a beamed ceiling, sash window, modern yet comfortable furnishings, and dining table and chairs. Relax in front of the wood burner or choose from the selection of board games provided. Descend the steps to the beautiful Shaker-style kitchen, complete with built-in appliances, a breakfast bar, and a Belfast sink. Open the bi-fold doors from the kitchen to discover a delightful, private courtyard with patterned paving, festoon lights, and a table and chairs perfect for soaking up the sun. Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms with traditional-style column radiators and quaint window shutters. The bedrooms share a fabulous shower room that certainly has the “wow” factor.

Newlyn has a variety of attractions to keep you entertained during your stay, including the fish markets that sell fresh seafood straight from the boats, a charming boutique cinema, an assortment of art galleries and unique shops, as well as traditional pubs and excellent dining options. Take a stroll along the promenade towards the larger town of Penzance (1 mile). Here you can find more shops and restaurants, a small theatre, and even a vineyard located just half a mile outside the town centre. If you’re looking for adventure, visit St Michael’s Mount, which is only 4.5 miles away and accessible via a causeway at low tide or a boat at high tide. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, stroll a section of the South West Coast Path or take in the dramatic seascape from Land’s End, 9 miles away.

The Old Bakery is the hidden gem of Newlyn. From booking to departure the whole holiday was stress free and we thoroughly enjoyed our time staying in the house. From the pink front door to the underfloor heating in the bathroom, there have been no compromises with the refurbishment of this house. The beds are super comfy, the kitchen is a dreamRead more and the cute little welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits was well received upon arrival. The owners have gone above and beyond here and we loved our stay. They have literally thought of everything from a board games cupboard to cookbooks! The location is superb. There are shops, a chip shop, a pub and a little cafe to name a few places all within a couple of minutes stroll. We parked the car each night in the Duke St public car park which was free overnight from 4pm - 9am and was ideal for us. We would 100% recommend a stay at this property. It was a welcome retreat and we would return again without question! A well deserved 5 star review! Thank you! Hide

Lovely home and so close to shops, pubs and beach. No parking which advised but the nearest carpark was not even 1 minute walk and free from 4pm till 9am.

The busy road could have been mentioned. The cottage hadn't been cleaned thoroughly with crisps on the floor. Also there were dirty things in the dishwasher and the oven shelf hadn't been cleaned and had old food on it.

We had a lovely stay and there is nothing to fault with the booking process (other than it felt strange to have no human/personal contact at all)or the quality of the cottage but the noise from the location of the cottage was not what we expected. The road is incredibly busy with cars speeding through Newlyn and due to the narrowness of the road weRead more had cars pulling up onto the kerb right in front of the front door. Perhaps on your website you could have a section that highlighted aspects worth knowing about the property. The cottage is beautifully decorated with lots of modern features which we enjoyed. Hide
