A true escape amongst the scenic Cornish countryside, this granite bolthole offers a serene place to unwind between holiday adventures into both Devon and Cornwall. It’s set right by the border between the two counties so you can enjoy trips to both Dartmoor and Bodmin National Park. Explore the grounds during your time here to discover the beautiful lakes with their resident ducks, spot wild deer darting amongst the fields and listen for the hoot of barn owls in the evening. Sit outside on the cushy seating or cosy up inside in front of the wood burner – you’ll want to come back again and again to this charming rural retreat for two.

Beautiful French doors welcome you to this cosy cottage; step inside and into a lovely, vaulted, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Painted stone walls and slate floor create a stylish space in which to unwind. Make the most of the pretty, petite kitchen, before sitting at the farmhouse-style, two-seater table to share a drink or dine. When you’re ready to chill, settle down on the chic sofa that’s set in front of the TV and a wonderful wood burner. Freshen up in the contemporary shower room with a heated towel rail for warm, cosy towels when you step out of the shower. At the back of the property, down a step, sits the lovely bedroom with a king-size bed and a view across the gardens, duck pond and meadows.

The rugged moorland landscapes and walking routes of Dartmoor and Bodmin are within 15 miles of this cottage, so you have no excuse not to get outside and experience some of the most unique habitats and impressive views in the South West. The Tamar Valley AONB is on your doorstep, just 4 miles away, while nearby historic locations to visit include Cotehele, Port Eliot Gardens, and Buckland Abbey, all within 15 miles. Two lesser-known local gems are the St Dominica Heritage Trail, just 1 mile away from this property, and lovely Kit Hill which is 5 miles away and provides fantastic far-reaching views. Treat yourself to a spa day at St Mellion Estate (3 miles) and pick up food or dine out in the delightful towns of Callington or Saltash, both within 8 miles. Head to Looe or Tavistock for heritage and shopping, or catch a show in the bustling city of Plymouth, all within 20 miles.

We had a really lovely stay at the Cider House - its idlic, rural location means lots of peace and quiet but was a great base for a leisurly drive to Looe harbour or the Eden Project. Great hosts with lots of info provided. Good quality accomodation in a beautiful setting. Would definetly recommend and look forward to stopping here again.

We loved this beautiful little cottage in the middle of a big garden. So peaceful and pretty. We drank tea in bed looking out the window at rabbits on the lawn. Ate breakfast out in the garden and sat to watch the sun go down across the lawn. Our hosts were very helpful and Colin and Bob their dogs very friendly. Idyllic x

Absolutely beautiful cottage, lovely and cosy, does get a bit warm in the summer but once the bedroom window is open and the French doors, it helps a lot. Hosts were extremely friendly! Relatively local to other attractions, lots of wildlife!

This was a beautiful little cottage with nothing but the sound of wildlife. So tranquil and cosy. So much so that we didn't want to come home. Cottage was well equipped with everything you need, and the owners were always on hand if you needed anything. They also greeted us with some lovely cards and a little card which was a lovely touch.
