Discover the infamous smuggler history of Polperro and its unique tidal pool. Potter around the traffic-free streets and stop into the independent shops and cafes before strolling the coastal paths for views and access to the nearby beaches. Polperro Beach (1.3 miles), Talland Bay (3.1 miles), Lansallos Beach (2.4 miles) and Lantic Bay (4.1 miles) are all close by, so whether you're looking for sand or shingle shores you will be spoilt for choice with these exceptional sun spots.

I would definitely recommend this lovely place to stay-especially if you love walking-which we do. Lots of places to explore but if you just want to relax it's idyllic. It's our second visit and we hope to return in the near future.

I was happy staying at the cottage, which is in a very quiet and peaceful location. With no light pollution, the night sky was wonderful.

Beautifull and peacefull place to stay, slept like a baby. The town it self is lovely and not too far from Looe, it's full of friendly people too. Cottage has everything you need,it's a perfect get away from a busy town.

As others have said, the walk into Polperro is fine, the walk back a bit challenging.. uphill and the road is single track with not many passing places. Having said that, the farm location is lovely and the accommodation itself, perfect. If you are after a break, away from the hustle and bustle, this place is ideal

We enjoyed our stay in this accommodation. We did the walk to Polperro three time across the fields and down the road. The first part coming back up is very steep but ok if you break it into sections.

My wife and I stayed at Hay Barn in June 2023. The property was clean, well presented and furnished to a high standard. The grounds were pleasant with access to a seated area with patio furniture overlooking farmland with the sea visible in the distance. Cottage warm and comfortable with lovely views, however proximity to Polperro village is a very steep one mile walk across two fields and a very narrow lane...it's a fair walk!! Nearest shop for supplies is a couple of miles away in Pelynt.

A lovely cottage in an idyllic setting. A bit of a challenge for some walking to and from the village but not a problem for us. This is the best cottage we have stayed in over the years that we have booked with Holiday Cottages.

Clean, cosy, well equipped cottage with great views down the valley. Be prepared for a testing walk up from Polperro or get a taxi or drive.

Cottage is a bit isolated. The walk to Polperro is not too daunting but coming back is a bit of a climb and not for the faint hearted. The cottage is excellent, very comfy but do bring your own shower and bath products. Plenty of narrow country lanes - but it is Cornwall. If you get a clear sky then the stars are spectacular.

Comfortable accommodation with a very friendly, caring host couple. The views from the property are stunning and it was a quiet, relaxing stay. As others have mentioned the walk back from Polperro is hard going but a taxi from Crumplehorn Inn only costs 7 if you can't manage the climb and saves parking costs.

The cottage was very unique with the bedroom downstairs. It was very clean and tidy with great amenities. The only issue we had was my husband is 6.4 and the bed was only just long enough. .We enjoyed it being remote as it made it very quiet but be aware you do need to be prepared for driving along very narrow Cornish lanes to get anywhere . The property was absolutely wonderful ! Well equipped, very cosy, very comfortable and very clean. And the views were beautiful ! The owners were very friendly and helpful. Well presented and clean. It's nicely placed for getting into Polperro, which is a really lovely little village. If walking, there is a bit of a steep climb on the way back, but a few stop / starts and you'll be on the flat again in no time!

Very comfortable and peaceful stay in a very quiet location. Would recommend to others and would also consider staying again. Though not a problem for us, but a word of warning about the walk back from Polperro involves quite a steep hill.

The cottage was comfortable enough and supplied with all you need, wash up liquid etc. Owners very nice. The views are lovely but it is located in quite a remote location and the only way to the village is down/up a single very steep track approx. 1-1.5 miles, shared by vehicles and pedestrians alike. We tried it for 2 days and then drove everywherRead moree, which is not quite as we intended. There are no walking areas directly from property. Parking down in the village is 6 for up to 3 hrs!
